Hawkes Bluff HOA – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Important:
The HOA board is volunteer-based. Please request well in advance of your closing date to avoid delays.

• Annual Meeting & Elections: 4th Tuesday of October.
• Budget Presentation: 4th Tuesday of January, 7:30 PM at the Ivanhoe Fire Station.
• Annual HOA Fee: Invoices mailed late January/early February; due February 28.
• Late payments incur added fees and mailing charges.

 Required for:

• Fences, sheds, extensions
• Painting, driveways, roofs
• Pools, and any exterior modification

How to Request:

• Homeowners (not contractors) must submit an email or mail request with:
  • Cover letter describing the project
  • Copy of your survey showing location (do NOT send originals)

Note: Town of Davie requires HOA approval before issuing permits.
Unauthorized projects may be required to be removed.

• Roofs should be kept clean. A chlorine or Oxi-Clean pre-wash helps prevent mildew.
• Mailboxes must be well-maintained and in good condition.
• Friendly notices will be issued for maintenance issues.

•  Ensure your home is easily identifiable by emergency services.
• Install 6-inch numbers on the house.
• Mailboxes must have reflective numbers on both sides.

 Please do NOT:

• Place trash cans in front of mailboxes
• Block mailboxes with vehicles
• Allow contractors to obstruct mail access

• Speed limit: 25 mph (20 mph over speed humps).
• Police regularly enforce speeding due to resident complaints.
• Multiple HOA requests have resulted in ticketing — compliance is expected.

•  Place trash out no earlier than the evening before pickup.
• All bins must be stored out of street view.
  • Trash: Monday & Thursday
  • Bulk Pickup: 1st Saturday of every month
  • 2025 Bulk Pickup Dates:
    01/04, 02/01, 03/01, 04/05, 05/03, 06/07,
    07/05, 08/02, 09/06, 10/04, 11/01, 12/06

 Residents must maintain:

• Clean roofs and driveways
• Serviceable mailboxes
• Trimmed lawns, trees, and shrubs 
• Trees located in the swale area

•  Do NOT block sidewalks with vehicles.
• This is a safety hazard and a legal violation.
• HOA may involve police if violations continue.

•  HOA enforces violations such as unmaintained lawns, dirty roofs, and improper paint.
• The board does not patrol daily—neighbors are encouraged to report issues.

Contact the Town of Davie Public Work at (954)797-1240 or email JCarter@Davie-fl.gov

Residents are responsible for contacting the Town of Davie if their sidewalks are lifted or cracked or in anyway affect/hinder the walking capability of any person. Failure to do so could cause the resident where the sidewalk is to be named in a lawsuit should someone get injured.
