The meeting was called to order by Howard Neu at approximately 7:35 P.M.
The following items were discussed:
1. Huntridge Fence. The matter has been turned over to the Association's attorney. See attached letter from Mr. Tighe. The Board had discussions amongst themselves on the handling of the violation. All directors felt that a very strong stand be taken concerning the removal of the fence. Town of Davie Code Enforcement is assessing $250.00 a day in fines.
2. Dykes Road Entrance. The widening presently being done is being performed by the County.
3. North Entrance. Mike said that the wall should be erected within two to four weeks.
4. Bulk Pickup. There apparently was a problem with tine last bulk pickup. Hawkes Bluff Too and Hawkes Bluff were picked up at different times.
5. Picnic. The Association picnic will be held on April 30, 2000. A flyer will accompany the next newsletter. The Association will be providing, amongst other things, chicken and ribs and hot dogs for the children. It was suggested that the flyer be placed on the Association's website for easier responses.
Treasurer's Report:
Jeff reported the following funds:$33,038.70 in the checking account; $13,832.75 in one money market account, and $4,839.13 in another money market account. The reserve account (CD) had $20,163.78. Total funds: $71,874.36. As of the meeting, 27 homeowners had not paid the yearly assessment. Final notices were going out April 3, 2000, which notices would include paying $3.31 for the certified mailing.
Committee Reports:
1. Landscaping. Mike reported that Pan American would be blowing the mulch in next week. Thc hedge on Hawkes Bluff would be cleaned up. They will also be exterminating fire ants.
2. Police. Steve Rachlin is no longer the community police officer. Barry Dodson is his successor.
Miscellaneous
Howard would again write to Florida Power & Light to find out the status of the new lights. So far, only one has been installed. However, sleeves and holes are in place.
There would be a Town meeting on March 29th regarding improvements on area parks. Several Board members stated they would attempt to be present and voice their concerns and make suggestions.
It was asked if the Board could do anything about controlling the color choices for homes. There is nothing in the covenants; however, possibly a request to keep the colors "toned down" and more in keeping with the neutral colors could be placed in the newsletter or on the website.
The next quarterly meeting would be held April 25, 2000. Jay informed the Board that he would not be present due to his being on vacation.
There being no further business, upon motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
Respectfully submitted
