I-75 EXPRESS LANES PROJECT

The Florida Department of Transportation is implementing express lanes along 28 miles of the I-75 and State Road (SR) 826 (Palmetto Expressway) corridors, from just south of the SR 836 (Dolphin Expressway), in Miami-Dade County, to I-595 in Broward County.

The 75 Express Lanes project extends 15 miles along I-75 from NW 170 Street, in Miami-Dade County, to I-595, in Broward County. Work will be completed in four segments to minimize affects to the public.

Construction began early 2014 and is scheduled to be completed by late 2018. The total project is estimated to cost $536 million.

The Project features a new 4-lane tolled managed lanes facility in the existing I-75 median. Key project components include:

This project will complete another section of the South Florida managed lanes network for all motorists and will improve mobility, relieve congestion, provide additional travel options and accommodate future growth in the area.

FDOT conducted a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study, as well as pre-construction outreach during the planning phases of the 75 Express project. The purpose of the Study and outreach was to plan for projects to relieve existing and future congestion by providing additional capacity, and transportation modes, along the existing I-75 corridor.

The study consisted of a series of public involvement activities, community workshops, and public meetings regarding the use of the lanes and additional improvements to the area.
